I had read reviews before booking hotel. It sounded great in reviews but I was disappointed. The best thing I can say about it was location was excellent. I had a 5 minute walk to my meetings which was great. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean but could use a refresh. All the hotels in Historic Charleston are expensive so this one was no exception. Just thought it would have been nicer. I did have a pleasant exchange with the lady who cleaned rooms. I appreciated her conversation on the elevator and her wishes for a good stay. I’d probably stay somewhere else in the future.

Stayed one night and unfortunately had a disappointing experience, especially considering the price point. I already had a headache before arriving, and the first room had an extremely strong bleach odor that immediately made it worse. Even a staff member acknowledged how strong the smell was. I requested a room change, which the front desk accommodated, but later that evening I discovered dried blood stains on the bedding in the second room. At that point, since I was checking out early the next morning, I chose not to switch rooms again. The staff was polite, and the location is great, but cleanliness and room quality are extremely important to me, especially at over $400/night. I expected a much better experience.

The location is about as good as it gets. The valet service is very considerate and convenient.

The location is outstanding! Walkable to all the main attractions. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Housekeeping came in twice a day - once to clean and make up the bed and a second time to turn down the bed -ready for a good nights rest!

Location was great / the hotel was reminiscent of the era it was built - beautiful
